The Senate observed one minute of silence in memory of Sergeant Paul Gillam and Corporal Robert Thomas James Mitchell whose tragic deaths occurred yesterday while serving their country in Afghanistan.

At 2:25 p.m., pursuant to the Order adopted on October 3, 2006, the Senate was adjourned during pleasure and put into a Committee of the Whole in order to receive Mr. Graham Fraser respecting his appointment as Official Languages Commissioner, the Honourable Senator Losier-Cool in the Chair.

That Mr. Graham Fraser be escorted to a seat in the Senate Chamber.
